Night Bivouac of the Corps of Discovery

Part of Fritz’s acclaimed series of 100 paintings illustrating the journals of Lewis and Clark, this work captures an evening camp scene along the Missouri River. Fritz spent a decade researching and painting the series, traveling to each location described in the journals and painting on-site. His complete collection represents the most comprehensive single artistic interpretation of the expedition, with each painting tied to a specific journal entry.
