Yellow Corn accompanied her husband Chief Sheheke and their son on the journey from the Mandan villages to Washington, D.C. Saint-Mémin portrayed her in this profile using the same physiognotrace technique applied to other expedition-associated figures. She is one of the few Native American women from the expedition era whose likeness was captured by a professional artist.
